Our daily excursions give our retreat participants the chance to explore the spectacular beauty of this region. Some excursions like a Sunset Safari are included in all our Cape Town packages and in addition we also offer some optional daily excursions at an additional cost.

Each excursion will be a new adventure where we reveal some of the secrets that makes Cape Town one of the most beloved tourist destinations in the world. Apart from the breathtaking scenery we will let you experience some of the cultural and culinary pleasures that has made this city famous.

Sunset Safari - Aquila Private Game Reserve

All our Cape Town packages include a Sunset Safari Tour to the Aquila Private Game Reserve worth approx €200. Aquila Private Game Reserve is home to the legendary big 5 (lions, elephants, buffalo’s, leopards and rhinos). Viewing these iconic species in their natural habitat is an unforgettable experience. The Aquila Private Game Reserve is located about 2hrs drive from Cape Town. The journey to the reserve, nestled in the Langeberg and Outeniqua Mountains, is breathtakingly beautiful. The safari include welcome drinks, snacks, and a guided 4×4 game drive in the 10 000 hectare private wildlife conservancy.

Chapman's Peak Coastal Route and Llandudno Beach

An immersive full-day tour unveiling the enchanting marvels of Cape Town. We travel on one of the most spectacular coastal drives in the world, called Chapman’s Peak Drive and stop at some viewpoints along the way that will take your breath away. Lunch we enjoy near the beach of Houtbay. After lunch we head to Llandudno Beach , the jewel in the crown of Cape Town. This pristine white sandy cove is bordered on both sides by stunning rock formations. Here you can find a secluded corner on the beach and just relax until sunset or you can take one of several short hikes to explore the unspoiled beauty of the rock formations along the beach. The sunsets on this beach are breathtakingly beautiful. After sunset we return home.

Cape Point National Park

Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point lies at the extreme southwestern tip of the African continent. With its dramatic cliffs, pristine beaches, and breathtaking views, the reserve is truly a sight to behold. There is an abundance of wildlife to be found in this special place. There are also an abundance of beautiful hikes and activities.

We will take the most scenic return route to and from the Cape Point National Park. This is a scenic journey where we can stop along the way at some of the most spectacular viewpoints and beaches in the region, for example Scarborough, Misty Cliffs and Kommetjie. Close to Cape Point there is an Ostrich farm that is another perfect stop along the way.

Boulder's Beach Penguin Colony

Boulders Beach captured the hearts of beach lovers around the globe as it is home to a colony of thousands of African penguins. This beach, with its large granite boulders and its small hidden white sandy coves will be your own little piece of paradise to enjoy. Relaxing on the main beach or in one of hidden small coves is the perfect place to observe and interact with the penguins at close quarters. The Boulders section of Table Mountain National Park also have 3 boardwalks, 1 penguin viewing platform and several stunning beaches to explore.

The penguins are most active early morning and late afternoon, so these are the best times to visit for photography. As most day tripping groups visit the colony in the afternoon, we prefer getting there early morning and depending on where your Cape Town retreat is hosted this may mean a very early departure. Early mornings there are plenty of penguins and fewer people!

Clifton Beach

Clifton Beach, located in Cape Town, South Africa, is one of the most popular beaches in the country. The beach is known for its crystal-clear waters, golden sands, and stunning views of the Twelve Apostles mountain range. Clifton Beach is divided into four different coves, each with its unique charm and appeal.
These coves are known as Clifton 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Beach. The First Beach is always buzzing with activity and is a great place to meet new people. The Second Beach is perfect for families and has pristine, clear waters for swimming. The Third Beach offers a peaceful and secluded getaway, ideal for those seeking relaxation. Finally, The Fourth Beach is simply stunning, especially during sunset walks. Whichever cove you pick, Clifton Beach guarantees unforgettable moments in a beautiful coastal paradise.

Hike to a Secret Waterfall

A misty forest, the sound of water trickling down branches and dripping on the rocks beneath. Everything is perfectly still, and then you see a magical waterfall. This isn’t a scene from a movie. It’s truly a magical sight, with the water gushing over ferns and green moss. You can stand under the water and cool off after the hike. The area is also full of rocks on which you can rest and have a snack.
While this isn’t a very technical hike, be sure to pack your climbing legs as the route is a climb of about 2.5km , but don’t worry we will often take a rest going up. Conversely, it provides for a fast descent.

Sunset on a Secluded and Wild Beach

Imagine a place with a secluded beach, a cliff hanging over the back end and a cave to the far side. Spending an afternoon on this secluded and wild beach will be an unforgettable memory. The sunsets here are some of the most memorable you will ever encounter. At low tide we can enter an enormous cave and enjoy the magical views towards the mountains on the horizon

Chapman's Peak Hike

We travel on one of the most spectacular coastal drives in the world, called Chapman’s Peak Drive and stop at some of the most popular viewpoints along the way. Then we take a short hike to one of the best views in Cape Town. This route is relatively unknown and most likely we will be enjoying the views alone. It is a pleasant hike and if we do a late afternoon hike then we can enjoy a sunset over the ocean and Sentinel peak across the ocean.

You can expect spectacular views of Hout Bay Harbour and Sentinel Peak in the distance as the hike starts. You will be enjoying a 360 degree view that is unforgettable.

Scenic Road to a Lesser known Penguin colony

To reach this lesser known penguin colony we take one of the most scenic coastal routes in the world, called Clarens Drive. This road hugs the coastline, passing some secluded beaches and small holiday villages along the way. We will make some stops to explore these locations but our ultimate destination is a penguin colony that is less visited than any of those nearer to Cape Town. We conclude the day by enjoying a sunset on one of the unspoiled beaches along the way and then head back home.

This is a full day excursion and return will not be before 22:00 in the evening.

Kayak Adventure - Seapoint

Our cooperation partner has been operating fun and safe kayak tours since 1995. They offer guided kayak adventures in the morning, at sunset and under the glorious full moon, weather permitting. On their kayak tours, you will have the opportunity to see some of Cape Town’s most iconic landmarks, including Table Mountain. It is very likely that you will encounter some marine mammals, such as the acrobatic and much-loved endemic Heaviside’s dolphins, Cape fur seals, southern right whales, humpback whales and Bryde’s whales. Sometimes, they are lucky and see ocean sunfish – Mola mola – due to the abundance of their favourites fare: jellyfish, zooplankton, crustaceans and algae. On rare occasions, they have even come across orcas and Cape clawless otters. Their guides are APA certified and their kayaks are SAMSA approved, so you are in the best hands.

Their tours are suitable for all levels of experience, from beginner paddlers to seasoned kayakers.

One of the top six tourist destinations in the Western Cape, the Stellenbosch Wine Route has been divided into five sub-routes, according to wine styles, climate and location. We will start with a lunch on one of the estates and then visit some well known vineyards in the region. There are 148 wine farms along the route, many of them historical farms with beautiful Cape Dutch manor houses, gardens, hotels and fine-dining restaurants.

Sunset Rocks and Mojo Food Court

We go to one of the most exclusive spots to view the sunset in Cape Town. As it can get quite busy we will head there early to find our own rock from which to view the sunset. After sunset we head to The Mojo Market for dinner.
